This two day seminar is designed for nurses working in areas where temporary pacing is employed as a
component of patient care. The program will cover both basic and advanced pacing concepts.
Topics include: Principle of pacing, overview of various pacing modes (atrial, ventricular, A-V sequential), dual chamber pacing, demand and trigger response pacing, post ventricular atrial refractory period, ventricular safety pacing, upper rate behaviour, pacemaker mediated tachycardia, nursing management of patients with pacemakers, clinical approach to analysis of DDD electrocardiograms, & troubleshooting of Pacing Problems. Pacing tactics for improving haemodynamics will also be covered.
