This program has been designed to meet the continuing professional development (CPD) standards for Nurses as per AHPRA requirements. One hour of active learning is equivalent to one hour of CPD and attendance over the one day attracts 6.0 CPD points. This program approaches electrocardiography from two instructional directions. The classic ECG appearance of all major abnormalities is explored, followed by examples of how these appearances change when additional disease or abnormalities occur to complicate the original picture. In addition, an axis-based approach to interpretation is provided, enabling an organized, comprehensive approach to the ECG with axis deviation. These approaches provide a sound basis for approaching even the most difficult of ECGs, and are related always to physiologic underpinnings and clinical practice.
